In 1945, Glen Garden played host to the
First Annual Fort Worth Invitational
Golf Tournament.
 Tom Brown, Known
as Coca-Cola Brown, and President of
Glen Garden, started the tournament.  
Byron Nelson won the event shooting 11
under par, and beating Jimmy Demaret
by 8 strokes.  Byron won 18
tournaments that year and 11 in a row.  
The 11 in a row is a record that will
stand forever.
